Returns and Refunds
Not loving your Pocket Cologne or Pocket Perfume order? We've got a no-hassle, 30-day money-back guarantee on every product. Original shipping costs are not refunded, and there are a few items that don't qualify (custom and bulk orders). Here is exactly how the process works, what's eligible, and what to expect.
The 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you aren't happy with your purchase for any reason, send back any unopened sticks or unused bundles within 30 days of delivery and we refund 100% of the product price to your original payment method. Original shipping costs ($5.99 standard, $12.99 expedited, $29.99 overnight) are not included in the refund. Free shipping orders ($50+) have no shipping refund to make.
The 30-day window starts the day the carrier marks the package as delivered, not the day you ordered. If you ordered on the 1st and the package arrived on the 5th, you have until the 4th of the following month to start a return.
What's Eligible
- Eligible: Unopened sticks (cap still on, twist mechanism untouched), unused bundle packs (kraft mailer not opened), Pocket+ subscription orders (first month only).
- Not eligible: Opened or used sticks, custom sticks with personalization or engraving, corporate and wholesale bulk orders, gift cards, items past the 30-day window.
An "unopened" stick means the gold seal on the lid is still intact and the wax surface is undisturbed. Once you twist the dial, the stick is opened. We can't restock or resell used product for hygiene reasons, which is the same standard every legitimate solid-fragrance brand follows.
How to Start a Return
- Email hello@pocketcologne.com with your order number and which items you are returning. (You can find your order number in the confirmation email or by logging into your account.)
- We email you a prepaid USPS return label within 24 business hours. Print it at home, or use the QR code at any USPS location.
- Pack the items in any padded mailer or the original mailer if you still have it. Drop it at any USPS box, post office, or scheduled pickup.
- Your refund processes within 5 business days of us receiving the package. Refunds hit your original payment method within 7-10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
- You'll get a confirmation email the moment the refund is initiated.
Damaged or Wrong Item
If your order arrives damaged (broken stick, cracked tube, leaked wax) or we sent the wrong scent, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the issue. We replace the item at no cost and cover the return shipping label. No need to send the damaged item back unless we specifically request it for quality-tracking purposes.
We track every "damaged in transit" report against the carrier batch so we can spot trends and reroute through a different carrier if needed. Your report helps every future order.
Wrong Address or Missing Package
If the carrier marks the package as delivered but you don't have it, follow these steps first: (1) wait 24 hours (carriers sometimes scan delivered when the package is on the truck overnight), (2) check with your neighbors and your building front desk, (3) look for the package in any side gates, mailrooms, or porches at your address. If after 24 hours and a neighbor check you still don't have it, contact us within 14 days of the expected delivery date and we will replace the order at no cost.
If you entered the wrong address at checkout and the package was delivered to that wrong address, we cannot replace it for free. Email us within 30 minutes of placing the order if you spot a typo and we will catch it before the label prints.
Exchanges
We don't do formal exchanges (it makes the refund cycle longer and is more confusing than placing a new order). The fastest path: return the original through the process above, then place a new order for the scent or bundle you want. If you have a discount code, you can apply it at the new checkout.
If you ordered a Pocket+ subscription and want a different scent for next month, you don't need to return anything. Just edit the upcoming shipment from your account page before the cutoff.
Pocket+ Subscription Cancellations
You can pause, skip, or cancel your Pocket+ subscription any time from your account. No cancellation fees, no penalty, no questions. The cutoff to change or cancel the next shipment is 48 hours before the scheduled ship date. After that the shipment is already in our pick queue and will ship.
Charges that have already processed for a shipment that has already shipped are not refundable, but you can return any unopened sticks from that shipment using the regular returns process above. If you cancel mid-month, your subscription stays active until the end of the month you've paid for, then doesn't renew.
Sale and Promo Code Orders
Returns on sale items and promo-code orders refund at the actual price you paid, not the original retail price. If you bought a bundle for $34.99 using the BUNDLE3 code, the refund is $34.99 minus the per-item value of any sticks that arrive opened.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be returned for cash. They never expire and can be applied to any order at any time.
